Bittermilk - Bourbon Barrel-Aged Manhattan
Bittermilk's formulation captures the essence of a classic Manhattan cocktail as a non-alcoholic elixir. Using port wine (alcohol-removed), grapes, raisins and their No.1 Bitter Formula, they replicate the sweet vermouth flavour, enhanced with a bit of cherry. Aged in Willett bourbon barrels, the mixer gains charred oak and vanilla notes, while that trademark No.1 Bitter Formula (the base of their No.1 Old Fashioned) adds complex bitterness for balance. Stir 1 Part Bittermilk Manhattan and 4 Parts Rye or Bourbon with lots of ice. Strain into a cocktail glass, and serve up. Garnish with a brandied cherry.
